The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) invites promising young researchers to apply for a place in the 2012 series of capacity-building events in the framework of the Young Faces Network (YFN). The topic of this year’s event cycle is “Intelligence Oversight”.
Two capacity-building workshops, to take place in July 2012 and in December 2012, will focus on the means and modalities of oversight of the activities of intelligence agencies. Particular focus will be placed on the challenges faced by South East European countries in this regard. The workshops are meant to help build the foundations for a future security community in South East Europe by identifying, training and providing networking opportunities for young and upcoming opinion leaders from the region.
Participants will be selected on the basis of applications. For detailed information on requirements for participation, thematic focus and logistics, see below. Interested parties are invited to contact DCAF (f.klopfer@dcaf.ch) for further details.
