On behalf of the Kosovar Center for Security Studies (KCSS), Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP), and the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) we kindly invite you to our joint regional conference entitled "Security Research Forum Prishtina – Belgrade – Tirana: Civil Protection and Regional Emergency Management", which will be held on Wednesday, 29 April, 2015 at Hotel Sirius starting from 10:00 hrs.
The conference aims to bring independent experts and researchers from Kosovo, Serbia and Albania, a number of politicians, scholars, professional servants, academics and civil society representatives in order to discuss issues related to the overall results of the agreement and its importance when it comes to civil protection, as well as emergency management and the potentials for cooperation in this sphere.
The structure of the conference will be divided into two parts: In the first panel there will be presented the findings of the research paper entitled "The Future of Civil Protection in the North of Kosovo" with a focus on the discourse of representatives of the four northern municipalities on the structure; mandate and funding of "Civil Protection" (CP); Alternatives for the integration of the CP members into Kosovo security sector and civil life.
In the second panel the findings of three research papers on Emergency Management and Potential Cooperation between Kosovo, Albania and Serbia from the three partner organizations will be presented. The focus of their presentation will be on the achievements, shortcomings and challenges when it comes to emergency management in the three states and the level of their cooperation.
All presentations will be held in Albanian and Serbian Language (simultaneous translation into English and vice versa will be provided).
