Prishtina, October 23, 2023: In an important step towards fostering community development, youth employment, and interethnic cooperation, 15 young participants from the six recipient projects of grants from the FIERC project attended a specialized training event. This training opportunity was organized to help these aspiring change-makers refine their start-up and community projects and equip them with the necessary skills for successful project management.
The morning session of the training was marked by project presentations and expert feedback, conducted online. Each of the six grant-winning projects had the chance to present their initiatives to the group. The presentations were followed by feedback from two distinguished experts, Prof. em. Dr. Ulrich Wagner from Philipps-Universität, Germany, and Dr. Werner Distler, Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Groningen. These experts provided insights and expertise to help participants strengthen their projects and set them on a path to success.
The six winning projects include: Technology Enthusiasts Project by Kosovo Youth Assembly, Municipality of Lipjan; TechConnect: Youth empowering through technology Project by BONEVET Foundation, Municipality of Kamenica; MultiTechCraft Project by BONEVET Foundation, Municipality of Mitrovica; 16 Days of Activism Project by Centar Manjinske Zajednice, Municipality of Gracanica; Dialogue for a better future Project by NGO Strong Start, Municipality of Štrpce; Tourists Map Project by Informal Initiative, Municipality of Štrpce.
Part 2 of the training, which took place in the afternoon, focused on a vocational training on project management for development and interethnic relations. The workshop was conducted by Ardit Orana and aimed to equip the participants with essential project management skills, particularly emphasizing the importance of context awareness when working in interethnic environments.
The entire training event was designed to empower the young grant recipients with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a lasting impact in their communities while promoting youth employment, community development, and enhancing interethnic relations and cooperation.
With the guidance of experts and specialized training, participants left the training with a stronger sense of purpose and a renewed commitment to building a more inclusive society. This event marks an important milestone in the process of implementation of the start-up projects at the grassroots level and to help the participants make positive change and contribute to their communities.
This activity is organized in the framework of FIERC project, implemented by the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), in partnership with the New Social Initiative (NSI), and funded the Stability Pact Fund of the German Federal Foreign Office.
